Built around your values, your service and the benefits you’ve earned.
Our process is designed for Kansas firefighters and their families.
Four phases, one clear plan
We connect what matters most to you with the benefits you’ve earned through KP&F and your Firefighter Relief Association (FRA).
Not every phase is needed for every firefighter, and phases are often combined depending on your needs and time to retirement.
Financial planning and investment strategies do not guarantee any particular result. Outcomes depend on individual circumstances, benefit provisions, market conditions, product terms, costs, and other factors.
- Phase 1Current Planning Analysis
- Phase 2Planning Opportunities Design
- Phase 3Implementation
- Phase 4Annual Review
We get a clear picture of you, your family and the benefits you’ve earned as a Kansas firefighter.
- Values and goals: retirement timing, income stability, survivor protection, paying off the house, supporting kids and grandkids.
- KP&F eligibility: confirm when you qualify for an unreduced or reduced benefit, based on age and service.
- Financial inventory: KP&F, FRA, Social Security, savings and debts in simple, easy-to-read summaries.
- Insurance review: life and health coverage (FRA, city, union) and any gaps as you move from active duty to retirement.
- Second opinion: review your current plan and identify options to consider.
The result: a firefighter-focused snapshot of where you are today and what needs attention before retirement.
We analyze each strategy you choose to consider.
- A diagram of the strategy
- A cash-flow model
- An asset-flow model
The report brings every strategy together in one view and shows how each strategy may relate to your objectives.
This is where decisions become reality and forms get completed.
- Coordinate your team: work with KP&F, your FRA, payroll/HR and Social Security for accurate, on-time forms.
- Set up your income plan: align KP&F, FRA, Social Security and personal accounts to help organize your retirement cash flow.
- Position investments and protection: adjust accounts and insurance to match your income needs and risk comfort after active duty.
You receive a summary of your starting point, the choices made and your estimated income and benefits (hypothetical; not guaranteed).
Retirement isn’t a one-time event. Health, family and goals change, so your plan should too.
- Regular check-ins: in person, by phone or by mail, to update goals, review spending and income, and address life changes.
- Monitor benefits and accounts: KP&F pension, FRA, Social Security and investments, adjusted as needed.
- Revisit protection and estate: life and health insurance, beneficiaries and basic estate documents.
